Camping Sarathei is a friendly, family owned site on the banks of Santa Croce lake. It is very popular with windsurfers due to the constant wind, combined with flat water, and is renowned in windsurfing circles. Nestling below the surrounding mountains there are 236 touring pitches, all with 5A electricity. Some are shaded and some have views of the lake. Sarathei caters for those interested in outdoor pursuits and offers peaceful camping for all. The restaurant is very pleasant, as is the beach bar. A large gravel beach area is good for fishing or just relaxing.

The facilities sit back from the lake fence and there is a pleasant patio to the restaurant which also sports a pizza oven. Buses from the village will take you around the area or there is a train (4 km) which will take you to Venice the easy way in just over an hour. Torches are useful especially on the lake shores. A short walk outside the fence on the lakeside will take you to local municipal facilities where children can play and hire pedaloes. The pretty village is close by. With reasonable prices, this is plain camping with a distinctive Italian flavour.

One sanitary block has hot showers (by token, one per day free) and some hot water for laundry. A mixture of British and squat style toilets. One separate accessible facility. Two washing machines and a dryer. Freezer. Motorhome services. Restaurant with terrace also sells basics (bread, milk). Pizzeria. Takeaway. Beach bar. Two play areas. Tennis. Bicycle hire. Beach. Boat launching and watersports. Windsurfer and kite-surfer hire. Fishing. Ambitious entertainment programme. WiFi in some areas (charged).

Directions to Camping Sarathei

Leave A4 Venice-Padova autostrada and take A27 Belluno road. Then take exit for Farra d’Alpago. Site is at the eastern end of the lake and signed.
