This spacious site is on the southern outskirts of Privas and aims to provide a warm and friendly atmosphere. The site has 166 large, grass, mostly level pitches, of which 112 are for touring units with 10A electricity and trees offering varying degrees of shade. It is a comfortable base for exploring the lesser-known parts of the Ardèche with bus and coach trips available. On site there is something for all ages with a bar, restaurant, heated swimming pool complex and a multisports area with outdoor gym equipment. A welcome drink is offered each Sunday evening when details of the attractions in the area are given.

The campsite has a mascot which helps make the miniclub more special. A variety of activities is on offer for children aged five years and over, supervised by French, English and Dutch speaking leaders. There is a children’s disco party evening once a week. The campsite is a good base for day trips to the region which features the Ardèche river with canyoning, canoeing, climbing and potholing. For the less adventurous there are caves and a number of France’s best villages with character and charm to visit. In town there are all the usual facilities and next door is an indoor municipal swimming pool which closes in the summer. Two tour operators use the site.

Three toilet blocks, only two open in low season. Excellent children’s area in the main block. Accessible sanitary facilities. Motorhome services. Bar (all season) and restaurant/pizzeria (1/5-15/9). Outdoor swimming pool (1/5-26/9) and covered heated pool. Boules. Play area. Trampoline. Multisports court. Miniclub (mainly 6-12 yrs; 1/5-11/9). Entertainment (high season). WiFi (free in bar). Only gas barbecues are permitted. Chalets, mobile homes and tents for rent.

Directions to Camping Sandaya Les Jardins de Privas

From the A7 motorway (Loriol) take exit 16 towards Privas. At Le Pouzin use heavy goods route, D86, D22 then D2. In Privas at roundabout (near Intermarché) look for signs Espace Ouvéze exit left and take second left, signed campsite and Espace Ouvéze.
