Mount Olympus towers are an iconic backdrop to this region, and its slopes run down to the shores of the Aegean, where Camping Poseidon Beach is to be found. This rural area is just off the E75 motorway, which follows the coast from Thessalonica to Athens. The area is known for its sandy beaches, and this campsite enjoys direct access to the sea with windsurfing, snorkelling and waterskiing all available. Head inland to Mount Olympus National Park and take to the hiking and biking trails to explore the rugged majesty of these wooded slopes.

The touring pitches are on level ground, well-shaded by mature trees and various colourful shrubs, and all have 16A electricity. There is a good restaurant, which is open for most of the season. Off-site a principal attraction is the 13th-century castle of Platamon, set on a high point to the south and standing watch over the azure waters of the Aegean. Enjoy the sensational wraparound views from this dramatic vantage point. There may be some noise from the nearby railway and motorway.

Two modern and one refurbished sanitary blocks with mainly British style WCs (one squat toilet per block), open washbasins and controllable showers. Washing machines and dryers. Shop. Beachside bar. Fishing. WiFi.

Directions to Camping Poseidon Beach

Site has no direct access from E75. At Platamon castle take tarmac road descending sharply to right at the northern end of the hardstanding (close to the E75). Cross over railway bridge and turn left onto coastal road. In 500 m. turn right at site sign directly after Camping Heraklia. Site is on right in 300 m.
