Camping Oriental is an excellent family site located between Valkenburg and Maastricht. There is a mixture of 285 sunny and shaded touring pitches, all with 10A electricity and some with water, drainage and TV connections. There is also a selection of mobile homes for rent (all with TV). On-site amenities include a pleasant bar, a snack bar and a well-stocked shop (with fresh bread daily). There is a heated swimming pool with a retractable roof, as well as a children’s paddling pool. A large sports field is ideal for football, volleyball and basketball.

Valkenburg has a colourful history characterised by siege and conquest. The ancient castle ruins (destroyed in 1672) can be found close to the town centre. Two of the original town gates remain, the Berkelpoort and the Grendelpoort. More recently, the town was the base of a significant resistance movement, The Valkenburg Resistance. Nowadays, it is an important tourist destination and an excellent base for walking and cycling holidays in the southern Netherlands.

Directions to Camping Oriental

Approaching from Maastricht, take A79 motorway eastbound and take the Valkenburg exit. The site is on Rijksweg, south of the town centre, and is well signed.
