Close to the medieval village of Pujols and the Bastide of Villeneuve sur Lot, this purpose built campsite was opened in 2012 and offers 93 level touring pitches. A central area has 62 grassy pitches separated by young hedges and equipped with electricity (16A, mostly Europlug, long leads may be required), water tap and drainage; a further 21 pitches, currently with little shade, are dedicated to motorhomes. There are 26 mobile homes and chalets plus four Canada tents for hire. The region is rich in historical sites and the valley of the River Lot provides a wealth of opportunities for exploration, adventure and exercise.
Known as le Grand Villeneuvois, the area lies between Bordeaux and Toulouse and is less than an hour’s drive from the major tourist attractions of the Dordogne, Lot and Quercy. The Bastides of Monflanquin, Villeréal, and Monpazier and the castles of Biron, Gavaudun and Bonaguil are all within easy reach. Walkers and cyclists can take advantage of numerous marked paths and tracks in the area. The fortified hilltop village of Pujols, classified as one of the most beautiful villages in France, is a short but strenuous walk from the site.
Facilities
Two modern sanitary blocks including facilities for disabled visitors, bathroom for children and babies. Laundry room with washing machines and dryer. One block is heated during low season. Motorhome service point. Small shop. Bar (18.00-21.00). Snack bar with bar and takeaway service open daily in high season with breakfasts and bread (to order in low season). Swimming pool and Jacuzzi (April-Sept). Charcoal barbecues are not permitted. Communal barbecue. Giant chess and draughts. Table tennis and table football. Pétanque. Volleyball. Play area. Bicycle hire. Free WiFi.
Location
Pujols is 30 km. north of Agen. From Bergerac, arriving at Villeneuve, stay on ring direction Bordeaux, exiting on right at runabout with Pujols on left. Look out for signs to the right to Piscine de Malbentre and campsite.From Bordeaux A62 motorway, leave exit 6 and follow sign for Villeneuve sur Lot. Arriving at Villeneuve, stay on ring direction Bergerac, exiting on right at roundabout with Pujols on right. Look out for signs to the right to Piscine de Malbentre and campsite. From Toulouse A62 motorway leave at exit 7 and follow signs for Agen (D931) then head north on N21 to Villeneuve sur Lot. Arriving at Villeneuve sur Lot, stay on ring towards Bordeaux, and exit at runabout with Pujols on left. Look out for signs to the right to Piscine de Malbentre and campsite. NB new road scheme may not appear on sat navs.
