Alan Rogers Review
Camping le Moulin Fort is a tranquil, riverside site with British owners, John and Sarah Scarratt. The 130 pitches are enhanced by trees and shrubs offering plenty of shade and 110 pitches have electricity (6A). From the snack bar terrace adjacent to the restored mill building, a timber walkway over the mill race leads to the unheated swimming pool and paddling pools. The site is ideal for couples and families with young children, although the river is unfenced. There is occasional noise from trains passing on the opposite bank of the river.
Throughout the campsite, visitors will find information boards about local nature (birds, fish, trees and shrubs), and the history of the mill. The owners are keen to encourage recycling on the site. The iconic view of the Château de Chenonceau is little more than a 500 m. walk along the Cher riverbank and many of the Loire châteaux are within easy reach, particularly Amboise and its famous Leonardo da Vinci museum. Twin-axle caravans and large motorhomes are accepted, and this versatile site also has an allocated area for small tents. Everything you need for a successful holiday is here - including a free introductory life coaching session.
