Near Taxo in the quieter, northern part of Argelès (a somewhat frenzied resort in season), this family owned site on flat, grassy parkland with plenty of tall trees enjoys good views of the Pyrenees from the terrace area surrounding its excellent complex of swimming pools. There are 144 level, grassy, well shaded touring pitches, all with 10A electricity and some with individual sanitary units. Located some 1.5 km. from the town and beach, there is a regular connecting ‘road train’ service to and fro throughout the day and evening until midnight.

There are 200 pitches taken by mobile homes and chalets either privately owned or to rent. No Tour operators. A free bus service operates four times a day to the central beach in July and August. A children’s club, youth club and sports programme in high season makes Le Dauphine a good choice for families with children and is popular with British visitors.

Facilities at Camping le Dauphin

Good central sanitary block with all modern facilities including washbasins en-suite and accessible facilities. One third of the pitches have their own fully equipped individual sanitary unit. Shops, bar/restaurant, pizzeria with takeaway (12/5-14/9). Two large swimming pools and paddling pool (12/5-14/9). Two play areas. Tennis. Multisports courts. Minigolf. Games room. Miniclub (over 6 yrs). Full entertainment programme in high season. Torches useful in some areas. Free shuttle bus to beach (July/Aug). WiFi in restaurant (free), elsewhere charged.

Directions to Camping le Dauphin

Site is on north side of Argelès. From autoroute take exit Perpignan-Nord for Argelès and follow directions for Plage-Nord and Taxo-d’Avall (similarly from the N114).
