Lago Resort is situated in an attractive area which receives many visitors for the Monasterio de Piedra just 3 km. distant. It also enjoys pleasant views of the surrounding mountains. This site is suitable for transit stops or if you wish to visit the monasterio or the surrounding unusual Aragon countryside, as it is the only one hereabouts. It is not recommended for extended stays. Set on a steep hillside, the 100 touring pitches are on terraces, including a large area for tents. Only the lower rows are suitable for large units. These pitches are numbered and marked by trees, and have 6A electricity. The majority of the site is occupied by wooden cabins, mobile homes and apartments.
The area is very popular with Spanish visitors at weekends and public holidays, when the site can be very busy with sightseers from the Spanish cities of Barcelona, Valencia, Madrid and Zaragoza. Its rather steep access and slopes make it less suitable for young children and those with mobility issues. Facilities include a large pool, a restaurant, bar and a small shop, which are open all season and provide a basic service. This a large site of ten hectares stretching along the side of the lake. No English is spoken.
Facilities
The single, clean sanitary block has WCs, washbasins with hot water on one side and controllable hot showers (no dividers). Facilities for disabled visitors. Restaurant/bar and shop (June-Sept). Shop (all season). Swimming pool (late June-Sept). Play area on gravel. Large club room with indoor barbecue. Bicycle hire. Gas supplies. Torches needed in some areas. WiFi in some areas (free).
Location
From Zaragoza (120 km) take fast A2 road and turn onto C202 beyond Calatayud to Nuévalos (25 km). From Madrid, take A2 exit 242 at Alhama de Aragón. Follow signs for Nuévalos and Monasterio de Piedra from all directions.
