This is a very busy site as La Flèche lies at the junction of the Le Mans-Angers and Laval-Saumur roads. Set in quiet, park-like surroundings on the south bank of the River Loir (not to be confused with the River Loire, a few miles to the south), the site is a pleasant stroll from the town centre, with plenty of shops and restaurants. There are 177 touring pitches marked out on flat grass, many in excess of 100 sq.m. and some with dividing hedges.

A further 17 pitches offer mobile homes to rent. Some are in the open park; others are shaded by tall trees. Electricity (10A) is available in all areas (long leads are frequently needed). There are 35 shady pitches with water and drainage and one overnight hardstand suitable for larger units or American RVs – phone in advance. The facilities on site are well maintained, and there are many activities to keep everyone occupied whilst staying here.

After a day of exploring the area, you can take a dip in the campsite's outdoor swimming pool and enjoy the various sports available on-site, including tennis courts and a multisport pitch. There is also a children's playground for the younger campers to enjoy. There are also plenty of fishing opportunities off the banks of the river Loir as well as kayaking and pedalo hire.

Facilities at Camping la Route d’Or

Two heated sanitary blocks, one older block with rather cramped showers, and British and squat-style WCs. The central block is more modern and includes a second unit with accessible facilities. An additional separate block with laundry can be heated in cool weather (available for use by other campers in winter). Motorhome services. Bakery service each morning. Swimming pool and paddling pool. Tennis. Boules. Play area. Pedalos and canoes for hire on the river. Bicycle hire (routes in English from reception). WiFi throughout (free). Twin axle caravans are not accepted.

Directions to Camping la Route d’Or

Exit the A11 Angers-Le Mans motorway at exit 10. Take the D306 southeast. Avoid signs for La Flèche town centre, but continue on the D306 towards Bouge. The municipal campsite is well signed off this road.
