Castel Camping La Garangeoire is a stunning campsite situated some 15 km inland, near the village of Saint Julien-des-Landes. Set in 200 hectares of parkland surrounding the small château of la Garangeoire, of which there is an outstanding view as you approach through the gates. With a spacious, relaxed atmosphere, the main camping areas are on either side of the old road, edged with mature trees.
The 357 pitches (154 for touring), all named rather than numbered, are individually hedged, some with shade. They are well-spaced and are especially large (most 150-200 sq.m); 87 have electricity (16A, Europlug), 45 have water and drainage, and 4 have private WC/shower facilities.
Access is good for large units. Tour operators use 154 pitches. The parkland provides peaceful fields and woods for walking, and 4 lakes available for fishing, with boating on the main lake (lifejackets are provided). The site is now run by the third generation of owners since 1964, Ann and Eric Bourgon, and they have developed a new arrivals area for 2019.
