Campingplatz Kinzigtal is a small, friendly campsite attractively located at the heart of the Black Forest. Pitches here are mainly grass, with ten gravel hardstandings for motorhomes, and many are pleasantly situated beside a small stream. All are equipped with 16A electrical connections. There is a traditional oak beamed restaurant, with friendly bar, specialising in local cuisine such as schnitzel and locally caught trout, as well as an impressive range of pizzas and pasta dishes between Easter and September. The site shop sells a good selection of groceries and essentials, including fresh bread, local wines and liqueurs. Access to the adjacent swimming pool is free for campers. A special Winter rate of €15 begins in late September.
The Black Forest is, of course, very popular with walkers and cyclists. There are miles of superb waymarked tracks, leading through woods and meadows, through picture postcard villages with ample opportunity to explore cake shops! Steinach is a classic Black Forest small town and offers a wide variety of services, including a supermarket and other shops. Gengenbach is another attractive town, and has retained its medieval appearance with numerous well-preserved 17th- and 18th-century houses.
