Alan Rogers Review
La Hallerais has a lot more to offer than most municipal sites. It is ideally located for exploring this fascinating area and is a short run from Saint Malo and from the resorts of the Côte d’Armor. It is just outside the attractive old Medieval town of Dinan, beyond and above the little harbour on the River Rance. There is a pleasant riverside walk to the port and up into the town. Of the 131 pitches, 92 are for touring, all with electricity (10A), water and drainage, and are mainly on level, shallow terraces, with trees and hedges giving a park-like atmosphere.
This is a clean, efficiently run and well organised site with an international feel. All facilities apart from the pool are open all season and it is popular with people of many nationalities – including the British. The staff are very friendly and helpful and speak excellent English.
Facilities
Two toilet blocks, one refurbished to a high standard, are of good quality and heated in cool weather. They include pushbutton showers and washbasins in cubicles and also some spacious cabins with shower and washbasin. Unit for disabled visitors. Launderette. Shop. Attractive bar/restaurant with outside terrace and good-value takeaway. Swimming and paddling pools (1/6-30/9). Tennis. Minigolf. Games room with TV room above. Play area. Fishing. Location
Dinan is due south of St Malo (32 km. by road). From N176 (Avranches/St Brieuc) take D166 Taden exit north of Dinan, turn towards Taden and follow blue signs to site. Do not attempt Dinan centre.
