Camping du Lac is a very special campsite and it is all due to M. Labille and his wife, the owners, who think of the campsite as their home and every visitor as their guest. The campsite has 40 touring pitches in total, of which 32 have 10A electricity and 16 are fully serviced. There are also seven chalets to rent. The site is adjacent to a lake with a beach and safe bathing. Set in the countryside yet within easy reach of many tourist attractions, especially Cluny, the local Château de Digoine and Mont Saint Vincent with distant views of Mont Blanc on a clear day. Opened in July 2014, a new restaurant serves local Charolais beef and Burgundy wines.

If you want to visit a specific place, then Monsieur knows exactly where you should go – he never recommends anything that he hasn’t personally tried out. Tables and chairs are provided for tent campers and bottles of water can be frozen for cyclists to take away (free of charge).

The central sanitary block provides all necessary accessible facilities. Site is particularly well adapted with accessible facilities. Motorhome services. Washing machine and fridge. Bread and croissants to order. Boules. Play area. TV room. Sports field. Lake beach, swimming and fishing adjacent. Simple locally sourced food from the ‘resto-bus’ (1/5-30/9). WiFi in part of site (free).

Directions to Camping du Lac

Palinges is midway between Montceau-les-Mines and Paray-le-Monial. From Montceau take N70, then turn left onto D92 to Palinges. Follow campsite signs. Site is also well signed from D985 Toulon-sur-Arroux to Charolles road.
