Alan Rogers Review of Camping des Lacs
This is a well organised site with its own pool, close to the village centre, with many water-based and sporting activities available at the nearby lakes. There are 123 level touring pitches, 109 with electricity (16A) and 20 chalets and tents for rent. Some shaded pitches border the tiny Plaine river, 35 pitches have gravel hardstanding, others are on grass, but all are surrounded by well trimmed mature hedges. The site is owned by a collaboration of regional and local organisations, with a very active and enthusiastic resident manager.
Footbridges across the river lead out into public parkland where you can take a gentle stroll down to Lac de la Plaine with a sandy beach and swimming area. Or just sit on one of the many park benches and admire the view. For the more energetic, there is a Base de Loisirs with canoeing and a variety of other actvities on offer. The much larger Lac de Pierre Percée in the hills above also has sailing and an imaginative adventure park. The surrounding countryside is forested and the tracks provide opportunities for hiking, cycling and bird watching.
Facilities at Camping des Lacs
Three good sanitary units equally spaced along the length of the site have been completely refurbished to a very high standard. Each has controllable showers and washbasins in cabins, baby room with bath, children’s unit, en-suite accessible units and laundry facilities. Small shop for basics (1/6-30/9). Bar (1/5-30/9). Takeaway (1/4-30/9). Heated outdoor swimming and paddling pools (1/6-15/9). Play area. Fishing. Entertainment in high season. Eco-friendly chalets for hire. WiFi in bar area (free).

Celles is 80 km. southeast of Nancy.
