Helfterkamp is a pretty, family-friendly site located between the historical royal estate of Het Loo and the Ijssel Valley. With 14 hectares of land and making good use of traditional farm buildings, it offers an appealing, natural farming environment. There are 180 sheltered, grassy touring pitches with electricity (6/16A), arranged around the edges of green fields with children’s play areas in the centre of some. A barn has been refurbished to create a craft centre for children, and it also houses a TV room, table tennis and table football. There is also a small farm for children. A guided mountain bike trail is organised every Sunday morning.

The site is on the outskirts of the Het Loo crown estate, the largest country estate in the Netherlands, set in 10,500 hectares and including a majestic park and Royal Forester’s residence. Located in the heart of the Veluwe, there are more than 1,600 km. of marked cycle trails close at hand, and you can even plan your route on the digital route planner available at reception.

Three modern, heated toilet blocks are clean and have facilities for children and accessible facilities. Laundry facilities. Motorhome services. Small shop with bread to order. Recreation barn including TV, table tennis, shuffleboard and organised craft sessions. Play areas. Sports field. Children’s entertainment (high season). Bicycle hire. WiFi over site. A number of accommodation options area available including caravans, mobile homes and a bungalow.

Directions to Camping De Helfterkamp

From the A50 to Apeldoorn take exit 26 (Vaasen). Following signs to Vaasen centre, pass through traffic lights (and Cannenburgh castle to your right). Continue for 2 km, turning right into Gortelseweg. The site entrance is 500 m. to the right.
