This is a uniquely located, park-like site on the border of the provinces of Groningen, Friesland and Drenthe, right on the edge of the beautiful Bakkefeansterdunen nature reserve. The site is the perfect base for hiking, cycling, and otherwise enjoying the relaxed, natural environment.

There are 139 good sized pitches with electricity, all separated by hedges and many sheltered by trees, including 36 large ones (up to 160 sq.m) with water and drainage. There is a pretty café/restaurant with a garden terrace near the reception. The restaurant has a rustic interior and is perfect for a cup of coffee, a light lunch or a good evening meal. With few facilities for children, this is a quiet site with an adult feel.

There is a swimming pool at Bakkeveen (4 km), a small village surrounded by the natural park. For hikers, there are miles of waymarked walking trails to explore. Haulerwijk is a pretty town (also 4 km. distant), an excellent spot for some shopping and a coffee.

Directions to Camping De Drie Provinciën

From Drachten take A7 towards Groningen, then take exit 33 to E22. Turn right on N388 towards Niebert. Continue through Niebert and follow signs to Carolieweg for 2 km. and through a series of bends. Take N979 past Zevenhuizen and turn right in to Bakkeveenseg. Follow signs to site.
