Alan Rogers Review
This site stands at the gateway, via Münstertal, to the Black Forest. Not very high up itself, it is just at the start of the long road climb which leads to the top of Belchen, one of the highest summits of the forest. The site has plenty of shade for the 230 pitches (182 for touring units), all with electrical connections (10/16A, some 2-pin) and TV (100 also have water). On site is a small heated indoor swimming pool and adjacent is a municipal sports complex, including an outdoor pool and tennis courts. Reservation is necessary from early June to late August at this popular site.
Charges include hot water and use of the inviting indoor pool. A little tractor will site your caravan if required. It is well situated for excursions by car to the best areas of the forest, for example the Feldberg-Titisee-Höllental circuit, and many excellent walks are possible nearby. Staufen is a pleasant little town with character. A local train runs past the site during the day. Visitors are entitled to a Konus Card, giving free bus and train travel throughout the Black Forest.
Three sanitary blocks are heated and have free hot water, individual washbasins (six in private cabins), plus 21 family cabins with WC, basin and shower (some on payment per night for exclusive use). Dog shower. Washing machine. Gas supplies. Motorhome services. Shop (1/3-31/10). Bar (all year). Snacks and takeaway (1/3-31/10). Indoor pool. Sauna and solarium. Tennis. Playground with barbecue area. Table tennis and pool room. Bicycle, fun bike and skate hire. WiFi (charged).
Take autobahn exit for Bad Krozingen, south of Freiburg, and continue to Staufen. Site is southeast of the town and signed, across an unmanned local railway crossing near the entrance.Link to campsite location map on google
