Brienz, in the Bernese Oberland, is a delightful little town on the lake of the same name and the centre of the Swiss wood carving industry. Camping Aaregg is an excellent site of the highest quality, situated at the eastern end of the lake with breathtaking views across the water to the surrounding mountains.

Cabins to rent and seasonal pitches occupy part of the site, with over 200 pitches available for touring, all with electricity (10/16A). Of these, eight lakeside pitches have been upgraded with full services, and 18 have hardstandings, water and drainage. The trees, flowers and well-tended grass make an attractive and peaceful environment.

The Bernese Oberland is justly famous for its towering mountains and sparkling lakes and although useful as a night stop when passing from Interlaken to Lucerne, Camping Aareeg provides and ideal starting point from which to explore the many attractions of this stunning region. Nearby at Ballenberg is the fascinating Freilichtmuseum, a very large open-air park of old Swiss houses which have been brought from all over Switzerland and re-erected in groups. Traditional Swiss crafts are demonstrated in some of these.

Directions to Camping Aaregg

Site is on road B6/B11 on the east of Brienz. From the Interlaken-Luzern motorway, take Brienz exit and turn towards Brienz. Site then on left just opposite Socal petrol station.
