Domaine de l’Oiseliere is ideal for camping and campervan holidays and jsut 35 minutes from the Grand Parc du Puy du Fou. This is a small site with just 45 large pitches to choose from, 30 of which are for touring and are 200m2 and separated by hedges. There is a choice of full sun or shaded pitches with cover provided by oak trees. For families travelling in a caravan, large plots enable you to extend your awning easily. The site is a pedestrian zone; vehicles can drive to and from the pitches upon arrival and before departure. Otherwise, campers must use the adjacent parking area.
Camping Larrouleta is an all year site located at the heart of the Basque country. The site has been developed around a 2.5 hectare lake which has a sandy beach and is ideal for fishing. On-site amenities include a swimming pool, covered in low season. There is also a bar/restaurant specialised in local cuisine and where occasional Basque folk evenings are held in high season. The 327 touring pitches are of a good size. Choose between the standard (80m²) with electricity (5A), or a number of ‘Grand Confort’ pitches are available (about 100m²) with 10A electricity, water and drainage.
This Atlantic coast holiday site, with direct access to a fine sandy beach, is on undulating terrain amongst tall pine trees. A large site with almost 500 pitches, there are 233 hardstanding pitches of varying sizes for touring units, all with electricity (10A). One half of the site is a traffic free zone (except for arrival or departure day, caravans are placed on the pitch, with separate areas outside for parking). There are 71 tent pitches, those in the centre of the site having some of the best views. This popular site has an excellent range of facilities available for the whole season.
Bordered by the Moselle river, surrounded by the mountains of the Vosges and located just off the town square, this site is open all year making it a good base from which to explore in summer, and ideal for skiing in winter, when you might be tempted to rent one of the 40 chalets. Domaine de Champé is a level site with 80 touring pitches, all with 4/12A electricity, spread over a fairly large area on both sides of a tributary stream, so some are quite a distance from the facilities. There are two heated pools, one large outside and a smaller one inside. The village boasts a Theatre of the People, founded in 1895, giving shows in July and August. The Casino is open all year and is very popular.
Located in the scenic coastal town of Locquirec in Brittany, Camping Municipal du Fond de la Baie is known for its prime location at the entrance of the peninsula. Spanning 3 hectares, the campsite offers a direct view of the sea and immediate access to the "Fond de la Baie" beach.
CityKamp Camping de Strasbourg is a beautifully designed and built city site in south-west Strasbourg. There are plenty of pitches to choose from during the low season here, but reservations are advised during the Christmas markets and high season as the site becomes full. There are 195 pitches, 115 for touring with electricity connections (6-9A, Europlug). A lodge is centrally located within the campsite, which houses the campsite's main services, including the modern restaurant and bar, the games room and the communal relaxing lounge area.
Le Tivoli is a small family run site close to the Lot river on the outskirts of Mende. It has the advantage of being open all year. Of the 100 good sized and level grass pitches, 82 are for touring, all with 6A electricity. They are separated by mature trees which give varying amounts of shade. The site has been developed from farmland and has been owned by the same family for forty years. It offers simple, but adequate, facilities making it ideal for a short stay. There are many regulars to the site who visit when travelling south and then north en-route to and from Spain for the winter.
Camping Résidentiel la Pinède is a quiet site set back from the bustling resorts of Cap d’Agde and Sète, and is positioned amongst 300-year-old pine trees, partly on a hillside with views of vineyards and causses. All 155 mobile homes are privately owned or available for rent, they are well cared for with pretty, red tiled roofs and brightly coloured shutters, wooden decking and gardens. Cars are left at the perimeter of the site and paths meander through the pretty gardens and homes. Please note that there are no touring pitches here. The smart clubhouse at the heart of the site, which houses the bar and an entertainment-free restaurant, with a south facing terrace overlooking the pool area. There is also a second smaller heated pool, spa and children’s pool on the terrace below. La Pinède is open all year.
Le Vedrignans can be found deep in the Catalan Pyrenees Regional Park on the border between France and Spain. It enjoys a spectacular natural setting, overlooked by towering mountains but with a very pleasant Mediterranean climate. This is a parc résidentiel de loisirs and there are no touring pitches here. Instead, accommodation is provided in a range of attractive wooden chalets. These range from the smaller Genets model, which can sleep up to four, to the larger Edelweiss chalets which can accommodate up to eight people. All chalets have privacy, are fully equipped and are located on large pitches of over 200 sq.m.
Les Hameaux de Miel is a member of the Chalets en France group, which comprises six chalet parks in southern France. Please note, however, that there are no touring pitches here. The site is open all year and has a hilltop location with fine views of the surrounding valleys and forests of the Limousin. The Etang de Miel is three minutes walk away and has received the European blue flag accreditation for its cleanliness. The lake is ideal for sailing and windsurfing, as well as fishing, and also has accessible facilities. A children’s club operates during the peak season and various other activities are organised including archery, rock climbing and riding.
This is a relaxed, informal, spacious site alongside an extraordinarily long and beautiful beach. Riva Bella is open all year and is exclusively naturist from 1st April to 5th November only. The site is divided into several areas with 199 pitches (with 6A electricity), some of which are alongside the sandy beach with little shade. Others are in a shady, wooded glade on the hillside.
Resort & Camping - Val De Braye is a quiet and green place to stay in a riverside location just a few minutes' walk from the centre of Bessé-sur-Braye and an hour's drive from Tours. Wander down to the banks of the river Braye that hug the edge of the site, it's a great spot for fishing, permit required. Or for simply taking advantage of the peace and quiet to relax, read a book or tuck into a picnic. The bar has snacks and meals during the day, while those who prefer to cook have the on-site food shop. You can also walk the short distance into the centre of Bessé-sur-Braye, where the Saturday market is not to be missed.

The site is open all year and can be found at the heart of the Tarn et Garonne department, south east of Montauban and forms part of a Base de Loisirs. Leisure facilities on offer here include tennis, an equestrian centre, a swimming pool, and a multisports pitch. Sailing and windsurfing are popular on the lake, and fishing is also possible. Chalets here are attractively dispersed around the site and are all available to rent.

This coastal site is attractively situated 300 m. from a fine sandy beach at the northern tip of the Ile d’Oleron. The nearest beach, the Plage des Huttes has been awarded the European Blue Flag accreditation for its cleanliness. The site is open all year and includes a heated and covered swimming pool. The Ile d’Oleron has miles of excellent cycle tracks and a number of these run very close to the site. The 48 wooden chalets here are attractively dispersed around the site and are all available to rent.
A busy site and the only one within Paris, set in a wooded area between the Seine and the Bois de Boulogne. The site is quite extensive but nevertheless becomes very full with many international visitors, with noise well into the night, despite the rules. There are 410 pitches of varying size (including mobile homes) of which 313 are marked, with electricity (10A), water, drainage and TV aerial connections. An improvement and development programme including a new toilet block and restaurant was carried out during the winter of 2014/15. Reservations are made for pitches – if not booked, arrive early in season (mornings).
Campsite Les Peupliers is an all-year-round site, the staff are very friendly and speak good English. You can walk into the village and get supplies. This is a very quiet, very "French" site. There is a railway to one side, but the noise does not intrude. Lots of dog walking and general walks (and cycle rides) along the canal. You are advised to approach from Montardy to avoid the very narrow streets in the village. The toilet facilities are spotless and include a nice parent & child unit. A good overnight halt for those going further south - especially in the winter. It is possible to rent mobile homes and bungalows. The site has a children’s playground outdoor swimming pool and toddler pool, snack bar, pizzeria and restaurant. The site also supplies fresh bread. You can also use the internet, as there is a Wi-Fi point.
This is a short stay, city site just off the A6 autoroute and within easy reach of Lyon centre. Kept busy with overnight trade, the reception and the café (in July and August) is open until quite late. There are 239 separate numbered plots, all with 6/10A electricity. Those for caravans and motorhomes are mostly on hardstanding's and are on a slight slope, while those for tents are on a flatter grass area. All have shade.
This is a large site with 400 pitches arranged on 15 hectares of woodland with an open grass area in the centre. There is direct access from the site to the Semoy river and its banks, and to the woodland surrounding the campsite. The grass pitches are numbered but not separated and are suitable for large units. Many of the pitches have shade from large trees. This site is one of three Campings Départementale in this region, all with plenty of water-based activities. A large recreation area just outside the site is mostly used by French families.
Camping de l'Île is located in Ranchot, Jura, France not far from Besançon. As the name suggests, the campsite is located on the island, in this case between the Doubs River and the Rhine-Rhône Canal. It offers a peaceful and scenic location for a camping getaway. When you arrive at the campsite, you will find 26 touring pitches with electric hook-up points available. The pitches are spacious and vary in size and are surrounded by mature trees, and many are located on the water's edge of the Doubs River.
Situated in a wooded valley, 6 km. from Mirande, this 40-hectare site is in the heart of the Gascony countryside. With its fishing and boating lake and a swimming pool, it has 30 Romany-style caravans, purpose built to a high standard. These are installed on a hillside overlooking the complex. These roulottes sleep five people and provide a living area with a table, heater, fridge, two-ring electric cooker and a microwave, plus a bathroom with shower, basin and toilet. All linen and crockery is provided. Outside there are a table and chairs and a barbecue. The whole site is run ecologically in tune with the surroundings. The hills around are full of the Arab horses that are bred by the owners. The area is alive with activities such as the world-famous Jazz festival at nearby Marciac. This is the land of d’Artagnan, Armagnac and foie gras. Two of the units are adapted for those with reduced mobility.
