The campsite was initially opened in 1949, and since 1984, it has been run by the Richter family. It is located directly next to the romantic River Rhine. The colourful seven-acre touring site offers level pitches on grass with shade from trees, and the arrangement is open plan. All pitches have 10A electricity and 40, normally allocated to motorhomes, and also have hardstanding, water and drainage. This is a major tourist area, and the site may become quite busy, although usually quiet and peaceful.

There is a small shop which offers a selection of everyday necessities. In front of the shop is a terrace with seating to relax and enjoy the view of the River Rhine. Next to the camping ground (approx 100 metres) a heated swimming pool, tennis court, mini golf and an adventure playground for children can be found.

The walk into town is a pleasant 10 minutes, alongside the River Rhine. Rudesheim, famous for its wines and the wine brand “Asbach Uralt”, is located in the middle of the Rheingau, on the banks of the Rhine. Travelling by cable car to the Niederwald Denkmal and the Eagle Sanctuary is possible. Take a trip around the vineyards of Rudesheim with the Winegrower Express. Visit the Mechanical Music Cathedral, the Bromerburg or the Asbach Brandy Distillery. Enjoy cycling, walking, horse riding, and boat-trip on the Rhine.

Facilities at Campingplatz am Rhein

Two sanitary blocks with washbasins in cabins, one with controllable hot showers. A key is needed for the accessible facilities for which a refundable deposit is required. The facilities are easily accessed, spacious, modern and spotless. Washing machines and dryer. Motorhome services. Shop. Bar and snacks. Play area. Gates closed to vehicles and riverside 22.00-08.00. Pets allowed.
