A well maintained, family owned campsite with 55 large touring pitches close to the City of York. The majority of pitches are fully serviced with electricity (16A), water, waste point and TV hook-up. This is an adults only site with a large fishing lake and picnic area in the centre. Surrounded by open fields grazed by the family farm’s organic cattle, it is conveniently located just two miles from York city centre. Access to the site is via a fob operated barrier for which a refundable £10 deposit is required. Some road noise may be experienced but it is not intrusive.

Being on a bus route so close to York is an attraction, but for those who just want a convenient and pleasant site to stay on to explore the North Yorkshire region, it is excellent. The North York Moors are a short drive away plus Castle Howard, Scarborough, Robin Hood’s Bay and Whitby close by. An ideal site for viewing both town and country.

Facilities

The centrally placed toilet block has eight large unisex shower rooms each with toilet and basin. The toilets also have two smaller shower cubicles which act as overflow showers as well as immaculate vanity units and WCs. En-suite accessible unit. Laundry and dishwashing area. Motorhome services. WiFi (free).

Location

Leave the A1(M) at Junction 44 and head East towards York on the A64. Continue along the A64 for about 18 miles until you reach a roundabout (do not turn off at the earlier slip road marked A1036 otherwise you will end up in the middle of York). Take the first exit signposted A1036. Proceed 50 yards on to the second roundabout remaining in the left hand lane to follow the A1036. In 50 yards turn left into Hopgrove Lane South just before the Toby Carvery Hopgrove Pub. Turn right at the T junction at the end of Hopgrove Lane. York Caravan Park is half a mile on your right.
