Alan Rogers Review
There are many campsites in Argelès-sur-Mer and La Marende is a friendly, family site located to the north of the resort centre and just 200 m. from the sandy beach. There is a large swimming pool here, with a separate pool for children and a jacuzzi. In high season the pool is used for scuba diving lessons and regular aquagym. The site’s 123 touring pitches are of a good size and are reasonably shaded. Most are equipped with electrical connections (6A) and a number of ‘super’ pitches are available with 10A electricity, water and drainage. Around 85 pitches are occupied by mobile homes (available to rent).
La Marende is a lively site in high season with the site’s bar/restaurant (Le Love Boat), the centre of activity. This includes regular discos and karaoke evenings, as well as a good variety of games and competitions, including special activities for children. The Argelès tourist train stops at the site entrance and connects with most places of interest around the town, including the beaches.
Facilities
Refurbished, heated toilet blocks (2014) include provision for disabled visitors. Nursery. Laundry facilities. Motorhome services. Bar, snack bar and restaurant. Good sized pool (supervised July/Aug). Play area. Multisports court. Boules. Free WiFi outside reception. Mobile homes to rent.
Location
Approaching from the A9 autoroute, take the Perpignan Sud exit and follow signs to Argelès (N114). Leave this road at exit 10 and follow signs to Pujols and Plage Nord. From here follow signs to the site.
