The CAMC sites set the bar high for facilities and location and the Wharfedale site is no exception. Located about 2 miles from Grassington in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales National Park. Screened by stately trees the site offers a charming and peaceful location close to many tourist offerings. With great walks and cycling routes direct from the site, the Dales are there to explore. Wildlife abounds and a dog walk is available. Bus stop is just 750 metres from the site. TV reception is poor as is mobile phone signal. For mountain biking, local walks, rock climbing, plus the national cycling network you could not find a better location. With Skipton, Linton Falls, and the National Trust’s Malham Tarn Estate close by you are spoilt for choice.The site has 115 mainly hardstanding pitches all with 16 amp electricity.

With 116 pitches of which 12 are on grass, the site offers everything the modern camper could need. Although TV signal is poor the site has a boosted signal available. The recently refurbished sanitary block is excellent, well located and maintained. Closed for just two months each year the site is a great location to explore all the Dales has to offer, including Grassington which is one of the most picturesque villages in the Yorkshire Dales with its charming cobbled main street, Information Centre and a good selection of shops selling local specialities. Prior to Christmas, Grassington holds a series of Dickensian Days on Saturdays throughout December. There are also numerous pubs serving some fine Yorkshire Ales and some delicious home-cooked treats to be had. Wharfedale is very popular with walkers and cyclist so booking is essential.

A single centrally located sanitary block is up to the usual CAMC high standard. It provides accessible facilities. Laundry. Showers. Wash basins. Dishwashing. Motorhome service point. Defibrillator. Chemical toilet point. Gas sales. Children’s play area. Wi-Fi fair, charged. Information room. BBQs allowed gas, electric & charcoal. TV reception booster system. Pets allowed. Dog walk. Twin axle caravans accepted. Late night arrivals area. Tesco 10 miles. No tents allowed. Earliest time of arrival 1:00pm. Maximum outfit length 8.5 metres.

Location

Approach only using the B6265 from Skipton. All other routes are unsuitable for caravans or larger motorhomes: On the outskirts of Skipton turn off the A65/A59 at the roundabout onto the B6265 (signposted Grassington); in about 7 miles in Threshfield do not turn right to Grassington but continue straight onto B6160 (signposted Kettlewell); in 1 mile turn left into leisure park entrance (site sign). In 250 yards take the second left into site road. Please adhere to earliest arrival time of 12:00 as the approach road is narrow in places.
