This well equipped campsite is in a quiet location on a wooded slope to the north of Freiburg. There are 70 touring pitches close to reception and all facilities. All have electricity (16A) and grass surfaces, on terraces linked by hard access roads with some shade. Pitches on the higher slopes are used by a tour operator and for long-term occupancy. This is good walking country and with only occasional entertainment, this is a very pleasant place in which to relax between daily activities. Recently installed solar panels now provide most of the site’s electricity and heating.

It is useful as a night stop when travelling between Frankfurt and Basel, but could be a convenient centre for visiting Europa Park and Freiburg. This well equipped site can also offer a longer stay. The site restaurant is very popular and has reasonably priced, compact menu. The local wines are well worth trying.

The main toilet facilities have just been upgraded to an exceptional standard, with new facilities for babies and accessible facilities. Laundry facilities (charged) and covered clothes line. Motorhome services. Bar/restaurant (Easter-Sept). Two play areas. WiFi (charged). Dogs are not accepted 15/7-15/8.

Directions to Terrassen Campingplatz Herbolzheim

From A5 Frankfurt-Basel autobahn take exit 57, 58 or 59 and follow signs to Herbolzheim. Site is signed on south side of town near swimming pool. Go through pool car park and 350 m. past the pool entrance.
