Situated on the shores of Lake Thun, Camping Thunersee is an ideal site for those who wish to explore this part of the Bernese Oberland and who would enjoy staying on a small site in a quiet area away from the larger sites and town atmosphere of Interlaken. There are 75 numbered but unmarked pitches for touring units, most with 4A electricity available, and about the same number of seasonal units. There are hard access roads but cars must be parked away from the pitches. Recent additions are eight premium pitches overlooking the lake and popular pods for light travellers. Although there are some trees, there is little shade in the main camping area. There is direct access to the lake for swimming and boating.

The site has a cared for air and the friendly management speak good English. The restaurant, with cosy seating inside and a large terrace for al fresco dining, and the shop are particularly good. Some activities are organised for children in high season. The Panorama Card, given free to visitors, provides free travel on buses and trains, plus discounts at local attractions.

Single, modern, well constructed sanitary block, fully equipped with hot water provided for washbasins and showers. Facilities should be adequate in high season. Accessible facilities, Washing machine and dryer. Motorhome services. Well stocked shop. Good restaurant with terrace. Lake swimming and boating. Bicycle and pedal car hire. Internet access. WiFi throughout (free).
