On the ‘Inlandsvägen’ route through Sweden, the town centre is only a short walk from this neat, friendly site. Two supermarkets, a café and a tourist information office, are adjacent. The 91 pitches are in rows, on level grass, divided into bays by tall hedges, and with electricity (10/16A) available to 70. The site has boats, canoes and bicycles for hire, and the river frontage has a barbecue area with covered seating and fishing platforms. Alongside the river with its fountain and running through the site is a pleasant well-lit riverside walk.
This is a pleasantly rural spot, with serene countryside to explore on the doorstep. Places to visit include the local town with its lovely church and adjacent gardens, some interesting old churches in the surrounding villages, and 16th-century Remsgården, 14 km. to the west.
Facilities at Svegs Camping
In the older style, sanitary facilities are functional rather than luxurious, providing stainless steel washing troughs, controllable hot showers with communal changing areas, and an accessible unit. Although a little short on numbers, facilities will probably suffice at most times as the site is rarely full. Kitchen and dining room with TV, four full cookers and sinks. Laundry facilities. River beach. TV room. Minigolf. Canoe, boat and bicycle hire. Fishing. Reduced services in low season.
