Alan Rogers Review of Siblu Domaine de Soulac
This is a well established woodland site, popular with families. Now part of the Siblu group, it has benefited from an extensive programme of investment and development. There are 82 large touring pitches (all with 10A electricity), the remainder used for mobile homes and chalets to rent. Most pitches are heavily shaded and on natural woodland floor terrain. A special area is kept for younger campers away from the quieter family areas. There is an attractive and well laid out pool complex, together with a small shop selling bread and basic provisions, a bar and a restaurant.
All the amenities are open throughout the season. Every morning in the main season a club is organised for children. It is 3 km. from the beach, shops and services at Soulac-sur-Mer. The area is famous for fine wines and there are numerous wineries, including many famous names, to visit. There are also fine beaches along this coast which offer the full range of watersports activities. The car ferry from Pointe de Grave to Royan makes outings across the Gironde estuary possible and can also shorten the trip to and from the site cutting out the need to negotiate busy Bordeaux.
Facilities at Siblu Domaine de Soulac
Three unisex toilet blocks fitted to a high standard. These provide a family bathroom with double shower unit, facilities for babies, washbasins in cubicles, and an accessible unit. Laundry facilities. Swimming pool complex, new Balnéo, sauna and jacuzzi. Shop, bar, restaurant and pizzeria, takeaway. Entertainment and children’s club (high season). Playground. Minigolf. Tennis. Archery. Riding. Bicycle hire. WiFi throughout (charged). Gas and charcoal barbecues are not permitted.
Directions to Siblu Domaine de Soulac
Soulac-sur-Mer is on the Atlantic coast just south of the tip of the Gironde peninsula. Site is signed off the D101 – turn east on a minor road 3 km. south of Soulac town and site is on left after a short distance.
