In a beautiful location beneath Rosedale Moor and on the edge of a popular village in the National Park, this is a campsite that is highly suitable for walkers. The site gently rises alongside the river, nestling within the valley. There are 150 touring pitches, 50 with hardstanding and 10A electricity connections. There are some caravan holiday homes (private), six glamping pods to rent and seasonal touring pitches in their own areas. The majority have superb views of the surrounding hills. WiFi is planned for 2015; there is no mobile phone signal on the site.

One field is set aside for tents only and many are sited near the river, which runs along the edge of the park. The surrounding hillsides are a maze of public footpaths and these and nearby Cropton Forest can all be reached without using your car. In summer, the Dales Bus runs through the village, connecting several of the popular villages. The 13-mile Rosedale circuit follows the route of the old iron ore railway, giving magnificent views and reminders of bygone industries. There is a glass blower at the village blacksmith’s and the Ryedale Folk Museum at Hutton-le-Hole is 3.5 miles.

Facilities at Rosedale Caravan & Camping Park

Sanitary facilities with underfloor heating include free showers and hairdressing units. They may be under a little pressure when the site is very full and are at a distance from some pitches. Accessible sanitary facilities and baby changing. Laundry facilities. Reception provides some basic provisions, sweets, maps and a small selection of camping accessories. Gas supplies. Games room with pool and video games. Large play area with space for ball games. Entrance barrier controlled by card (£10 deposit).

Rosedale is signed from the A170, 2 miles west of Pickering. Site is in the village of Rosedale Abbey, 8 miles north of the A170. Note: this park is adjacent to a Club site with a similar name.
