Rhein-Camping Waldshut is a quiet site just south of the Black Forest, a 10-minute drive to Waldshut-Tiengen. The site is in a well-located spot in the Waldshut district of the German state of Baden-Württemberg. Boat trips and fishing are close by, and the site is close to public amenities including an outdoor pool edged by a spacious sunbathing area, a miniature golf course with river views and a playground. But that’s not to say the park’s lacking its own facilities.

The Restaurant Rhein-Perle and its beer garden will provide you with the opportunity to order the Black Forest specialities and a chilled local beer. After a morning bread roll ordered the night before, whizz along the path fronting the river with the wind in your hair on one of the park’s e-bike rentals or simply meander on foot with a four-legged pal (dogs are welcomed on site), stopping to dip your toes in the water every now and again. The site has 57 touring pitches of which 17 are occupied by seasonal units. The pitches have 16amp hook-up point. 8 rooms/suites available to hire.

For getaways from the site, Waldshut-Tiengen (10 minutes’ drive) has a historic old town and is your gateway to wanders in the Black Forest and Rhine valley. It’s also packed with attractions and amenities. Head here for an indoor swimming pool with a sauna and solarium, a go-kart track and laser games. To ride on the river directly from the park, climb aboard a boat to be whisked to where the Aare and Rhine waterways meet with views over to Switzerland and Waldshut-Tiengen along the way. Glide down the slides at the Aqua Fun theme park. A few minutes further on is Wutach Gorge for roams in this spectacular forested valley.

Location

From Basle on A3/E60 Take exit 16-Eiken towards Eiken/Stein/Säckingen/Laufenburg. At the roundabout, take the 2nd exit onto Hauptstrasse Route 7. At the roundabout, take the 1st exit and stay on Route 7 keeping south of the river Rhine heading to Laufenburg, Schwaderloch and Koblenz. At Koblenz turn left onto Rheinbrückerstrasse Route 5. Cross the river Rhine and continue ahead on B34 and site will be on the left of this road.
