The campsite is pleasant, offers plenty of shade and is only 600m from the beach. With a huge entrance off the road, then a 500 m. drive through a pine forest to the camping area, this is a very large site with good sized, touring pitches, generally on slightly sloping ground, and a similar number of seasonal caravans. In places the numerous tall pines concentrate the mind when manoeuvring, although they do provide shade. Some pitches at the top of site have sea views and benefit from a modern toilet block. The resort of Vila Nova de Milfontes is an easy drive away and has a range of shops, bars and restaurants, together with an indoor market. The beaches along this stretch of coast are excellent, gently shelving, with rocks, cliffs and an area of large dunes.

At Milfontes there are opportunities for a number of watersports. The Parque Natural do Sudoeste Alentejano has many marked paths for walkers and cyclists. The park extends away to the south for over 80 km. and offers unprecedented opportunities to view wildlife such as wild boar and migrating birds. Even at the height of the season, it is still possible to find almost deserted beaches along the Costa Vicentina, including little coves edged with interesting volcanic rock formations.

Facilities at Orbitur Camping Sitava Milfontes

Two original toilet blocks are dated but are supplemented by two further, smaller more modern blocks. These are well designed with tiling throughout, and offer good facilities including controllable showers, hot water to mainly open-style washbasins (some with hot water), a separate baby room and accessible facilities. Washing machines and dryer. Motorhome services. Gas supplies. Bar with terrace and restaurant (Seasonal). Simple shop (Seasonal). Supermarket (High seaon, basics from restaurant other times). Large swimming pool and paddling pool (Seasonal). Large play area. Games room. Multisports playground. Tennis. Torches needed in some areas. WiFi in bar area (free).

Directions to Orbitur Camping Sitava Milfontes

From the north on A2, leave at exit 9 (Grandola) and head southwest on IC33 to Sines, then south on IC4 to Cercal and join westbound N390 towards Vila Nova de Milfontes. At Brunheiras turn west on CM1072. Site is on left in 4 km. From Algarve take N120 to Odemira, turn northeast on N393 to Milfontes, continue north on N390 to Brunheiras, then as above.
