Mount View Caravan Park is a well-established,  site located in Abington (near Biggar), South Lanarkshire. It is particularly popular as a high-quality "gateway" stopover for those traveling between England and the Scottish Highlands due to its proximity to the M74. On site there are 70 pitches of which  42 are hardstanding, level pitches. Most include 16-amp electric hook-ups and TV aerial connections. There are also two dedicated grass sections for tents, including the use of picnic benches.

The park's location is its strongest selling point for travellers as its only 1 mile (about 5 minutes) from Junction 13 of the M74. The site is also Roughly 60 minutes from Glasgow and Edinburgh; 45 minutes from Dumfries; and 20 minutes from the town of Biggar.  A 5-minute walk takes you into Abington village, which has a post office, general store (Spar), and a tea room. Note: The local pub in Abington has been reported as closed recently, so it is best to check locally for dining options. The River Clyde runs nearby (permits required); there are also fishing lochs in Moffat and Biggar. The West Coast Main Line passes near the park, making it a favorite for rail enthusiasts.

If you are visiting during the peak summer months or planning a late-night arrival, it is highly recommended to call ahead. While the site is spacious, the hardstanding pitches fill up quickly with overnight travellers.

Directions to Mount View Caravan Park

M74 and just an hour's drive from Glasgow, Edinburgh and Carlisle. Approach the A702 or exit the M74 at Junction 13 following the A702 south towards Abington. Once in the village, turn left into Station Road and proceed over the river and railway. Mount View is 20 yards on the right.
