Alan Rogers Review of Lucksall Caravan & Camping Park
Set in 21 acres and bounded on one side by the River Wye and over 90 acres of woodland on the other, Lucksall Caravan and Camping Site has 140 large, well spaced and level touring pitches (some seasonal), all with 16 amp electricity and 70 with hardstandings. The river is open to the site with lifebelts and safety messages in evidence. Canoes are available for hire, or bring your own (launching facilities); fishing permits may be obtained from reception. A large, fenced playground and a large grassy game area are provided. A well-stocked shop selling various goods is in reception (a mini market is within 1.5 miles), and there is a café/takeaway.
The site is a member of the Caravan and Motorhome Club Affiliated Site Scheme, but visitors who are not members of the club are also very welcome. It is also a member of the Countryside Discovery group.
Amongst the local places worthy of a visit are the Cider Museum, Hereford Cathedral, King Offa Distillery and Queenswood Country Park. The park is also a good base for touring the Wye Valley, the Black and White Trail and the Cider Route. You will be spoilt for choice on available walks in this charming area of Hereford, and the site provides free information on your options along with maps at their reception. Anglers will be in their element as some of the best coarse fishing on the Wye can be found here. A couple of good pubs can be found within 1 mile from the site.
