Alan Rogers Review of Kilkenny Camping - Tree Grove
This park lies just outside the historic town of Kilkenny, voted Europe's friendliest city by Condé Nast Traveller. It's a short walk away, and there's much to see with the Medieval Mile stretching along cobbled streets from the castle to the cathedral.
The Smithwick's Experience traces the history of brewing here back to the 18th century. County Touring Routes are worth following, and the Nore Valley is popular with cyclists for its trails and unspoilt scenery with abundant wildlife.
The site is terraced with 30 hardstanding pitches for caravans, all with 10A electricity hook-ups and plenty of water points. There are 13 full-service pitches. A grassy area is reserved for hikers and cyclists, with further caravan and tent pitches sited on grass near the elevated sanitary block. It's an attractive setting, with mature trees and floral plantings and shrubs at the entrance. There is some occasional road noise, which can be distracting.
