Lac de Sillé (formerly Indigo Les Molières) is an attractive recent addition to the Huttopia group and is a good choice for families looking for an active holiday in a verdant setting. It can be found close to Sillé-le-Guillaume, around 30 km. north of Le Mans. There are 166 large shady pitches here with 129 for touring units. Most are equipped with 10A electricity connections. A large lake of 32 hectares is ideal for sailing and windsurfing, and the forested surrounds of the Parc Naturel Régional provide an excellent environment for cycling or walking. Swimming is also popular from the large sandy beach. The Maison du Lac et de la Forêt is an interesting centre with a wealth of information about the area. In high season a little tourist train trundles around the lake.

Sillé-le-Guillaume is a pleasant town with a fine château dating back to the 15th century. Le Mans, to the south, needs little introduction. Best known for its famous 24 Heures du Mans sports car race, the city has a great deal more to offer. The old town (Cité Plantagenet) is well worth discovering, with its half-timbered houses and cathedral of Saint Julien.

Location

From Le Mans head north on D338 and then D304 to Sillé-le-Guillaume. Then follow signs to the Parc Naturel Régional and the site.
