It would be difficult for any child (or adult) to pass this site and not be curiously drawn to the oversized open story book which marks its entrance. From here young children turn the pages and enter the exciting world of Hannah and Bumpie, two of the nine characters around which this site’s fairytale theme has been created. There are 270 touring pitches (all with 6-12A electricity) mostly laid out in small bays. Indoor and outdoor pools for children are excellent and a new outdoor pool with terrace caters for adults and older children. There is a comprehensive daily recreation programme for children.

Although there are numerous static caravans these are unobtrusive and placed away from the touring areas. The site has a mature appearance with many trees and shrubs. The young owners of De Vechtstreek have given their site a very special identity by creating this fairytale theme. The colourful characters appear on finger boards and signs throughout the site. Very large indoor activity area where the fairytale story is enacted in Dutch. The restaurant and snack bar are open all season. This is also a campsite which offers top class facilities.

Fishing, swimming and boating recreation area at rear of site (200 m). Free WiFi over site.

From Ommen take N34 Hardenberg road for 9 km. Turn right on N36 and proceed south for 3.5 km. Turn left at first crossroads and after 200 m. left again on local road towards Rheeze. Site is clearly signed to the left in 2 km. Follow signs for Sprookjescamping.
