Alan Rogers Review
Hawthorn Farm is a large, relaxed park near Dover. Set in 28 acres, it is an extensive park taking 226 touring units of any type on several large meadows which could accommodate far more, plus 160 privately owned caravan holiday homes in their own areas. Campers not requiring electricity choose their own spot, most staying near the toilet blocks, leaving the farthest fields to those liking solitude. There are 112 pitches with 10/16A electricity, 46 of which are large and separated by hedges, with the remainder in glades on either side of tarmac roads. There are 15 hardstandings available.
A well run, relaxed park with plenty of room, mature hedging and trees make an attractive environment. A torch would be useful. Being only 4 miles from Dover docks, it is a very useful park for those using the ferries and is popular with continental visitors. Close to the sea at Saint Margaret’s Bay, it is a fairly quiet situation apart from some rail noise (no trains 23.30-05.30).
