This sheltered park has been created in a former quarry where all the pitches are on well drained grass. A spacious paved entrance with an attractive reception building and well stocked shop leads on to the park itself. The 54 pitches are level and open with a few small trees, two brick built barbecue units and 36 electricity hook-ups (10A). A playground has swings, a seesaw and a slide, all set on a safety base, and the entire site is enclosed by grassy banks on three sides with a wild flower walk around the top.

Local attractions include Brands Hatch Circuit (4 miles), the International Karting Circuit at Buckmore Park (7 miles), National Trust properties Ightham Mote (6 miles) and the Knole Park estate (9 miles) and the nearby Country Parks at West Malling and Trosley.

Facilities at Gatehouse Wood Country Park

Comprehensive toilet facilities are smart and well maintained, including a well-equipped accessible sanitary room. The laundry and dishwashing room is at one end of the modern heated building and has a fridge/freezer. Shop (in reception) has fresh bread daily. Play area. WiFi (charged). No dogs or other pets. Caravans/motorhomes greater than 28 ft. overall are not admitted. Commercial vehicles are not accepted.

Directions to Gatehouse Wood Country Park

From M26 exit 2a, take A20 eastwards towards Wrotham Heath and Maidstone. Just past junction with A25, and opposite the Royal Oak pub, turn left into Ford Lane and park is immediately on left.
