Ferry Meadows Caravan and Motorhome Club site lies 3 miles from bustling Peterborough and closer still to the East of England Showground. The immaculate site is an ideal family holiday site occupying 30 acres of the 500-acre Nene Country Park. Open all year; the site provides 282 pitches (16A electricity) – grass pitches on one side of the park, informally laid out in small groups and surrounded by a variety of mature trees, and 132 gravel hardstandings just across the road for caravans and motorhomes.

A very small area (with electricity) is reserved for tents. Families with children may prefer the grass area, where they can keep a watchful eye on the well-equipped playground.

Meadows, lakes and woodlands provide ample opportunities to sample the facilities of the Country Park. These include watersports, fishing, golf, nature reserves, a miniature railway and 60 miles of footpaths, bridleways and cycle paths, all off road, even into the town centre. On rainy days, Peterborough offers skating, indoor pool, bowling alley, cinema, theatre and plenty of shopping. Passing by within nostalgic earshot and yielding the occasional tempting aroma of bygone eras is the Nene Valley Steam Railway, complete with Thomas the Tank Engine.

Location

From the North: Leave the A1 at the A47 junction, proceed to junction 15. At the roundabout take the third exit (signposted City Centre, Orton, A1260) and continue to junction 32, signposted Nene Park. At mini roundabout take right turn onto the A605. After 1 mile, take the third exit on the roundabout, (signposted Nene Park, Ferry Meadows). The site is on the left, 180 metres after level crossing. From South – Leave A1 at Junction 17 (signposted Peterborough Services), take slip road signposted East of England Showground, stay in the left lane. Turn right at the roundabout (A1139), then follow signposts to Orton Centre and Nene Park A605. Turn left into Ham Lane, then as above.
