Alan Rogers Review
Tents were first pitched at Fen Farm in 1923, and since then, the park has ‘grown rather than developed’ – something of which owners Ralph and Wenda Lord and their family are proud. There are approximately 120 pitches (many seasonal), with 70 available for touring. They are all unmarked, on level grass and within four fields with a spacious feel. An area for 90 privately owned holiday homes is separate and screened from the touring area. All pitches have 10A electricity connections, and three have hardstanding and are fully serviced.
A limited number of seasonal pitches are available on the smaller field, with outstanding views and direct access to the beach. This is an attractive well laid out site, with trees and two ponds. The site provides facilities for launching boats from the seashore and is popular with water skiers and windsurfers. Jet skis are not allowed. There are also many opportunities for walking, either inland or along the beach.
The very good toilet block in the main touring field includes a family room and accessible shower/toilet . Laundry room. Gas supplies. Two play areas. Caravan and boat storage. WiFi throughout (charged).
From Colchester, take B1025 to Mersea Island. After crossing causeway, take left fork to East Mersea. Follow road for 2.75 miles to Dog and Pheasant pub. Site entrance is next right. NB. Access across the causeway onto Mersea Island is restricted at high tide.Link to campsite location map on google
