Dunstan Hill Camping & Caravanning Club site is located off a quiet lane between Embleton and Craster. This rural site has a tree belt to shelter it from the north wind and has access to the beach via a level footpath through the fields, across the golf course and past the ruins of Dunstanburgh Castle, which is just over a mile by car. With gravel access roads, the peaceful site has 150 level, well spaced pitches, 80 with 16A electricity. Reception is manned by very helpful managers and there is an area for outside parking and late arrivals at the entrance. This site is not suitable for large American motorhomes.
Non-members are welcome and may join on site. Please speak to site staff for details and to check pitch availability before arrival.
This is a wonderful area to visit, with its unspoilt beaches and small fishing villages and the whole area is steeped in history. Nearby are Holy Island, the Farne Islands, Bamburgh, Dunstanburgh, Walkworth and Alnwick castles (featured in many films including Macbeth and Harry Potter). The multimillion pound gardens project at Alnwick is well worth a visit.
Two toilet blocks have some washbasins in cubicles, hairdryers (20p) and a washroom for children with deep sinks. Fully equipped facility for visitors who are disabled. Laundry. Dish washing area. Motorhome service point. Chemical toilet point. Small shop. Gas sales. Newspapers can be ordered. Pets welcome. Dog walk. Ice pack freezer. Battery charging. Fish and chip van twice a week. Tourist information room. Telephone. Small play area. Ball games area. Torches are useful. Dog walk. Wi-Fi free. Bus stop adjacent. Mobile phone signal poor. Caravan & motorhome storage.
You are advised not to rely on sat Nnav. From A1 just north of Alnwick, take B1340 or B6347 (further north) for Embleton. Site is signed in Embleton village. Avoid signs to Dunstanburgh Castle and follow those for Craster. Site is (south) on the left after 0.5 miles.Link to campsite location map on google
