Although the site overlooks the Danube, it is in fact some 9 km. from the confluence of the Danube, Inn and Ilz. Dreiflüsse Camping occupies a hillside position, well above high water level, to the west of Passau with pitches, flat or with a little slope, on several rows of terraces. The 180 places for touring units are not all numbered or marked, although 16A electricity connection boxes determine where units pitch, and half have water and drainage. Trees and low banks separate the terraces which are of gravel with a thin covering of grass. There is some road and rail noise (24 hrs).

The energetic and very jolly owner, Herr Pitscheneder, is most popular with his guests and gives the site a very friendly air. This is a useful en-route stop or for a longer stay to explore the delights of Passau and the southern part of the Bavarian forest, and is popular with cyclists. The Danube cycle track passes below the site, but although it starts out by following the quiet river bank, it is soon joined by busy roads.

The sanitary facilities are acceptable, if a little old, with two private cabins for women, one for men. Accessible facilities, Laundry. Motorhome services. Gas supplies. Shop (all season). Pleasant, modern Gasthof restaurant with terrace at site entrance, where the reception, shop and sanitary buildings are also located. Small heated indoor swimming pool (1/5-15/9; charged). Play area. Bicycle hire. Aquakur wellness centre.

Location

Site is 9 km. northwest of Passau. From autobahn A3, take exit 115 (Passau-Nord) from where site is signed. Follow signs from Passau on road to west of city and north bank of Danube towards Windorf and Irring.
