Debrecen is an interesting old town, close to the Hortobagy National Park and convenient if you are looking for a break travelling to Romania or the Ukraine. Dorcas is a Dutch Christian organisation and the campsite provides holidays for special causes. The site is about 10 km. from Debrecen in a forest location, fenced and covered with trees. The 40 flat and grassy touring pitches are off tarmac access roads, arranged in four groups. Some pitches are divided by hedges, others marked out by trees and all have electricity available (6A). A pool and a restaurant are on the site and a lake for swimming, fishing and boating is close by.

There is room in the large tenting area for more units, also with electricity, if necessary. The historic centre of Debrecen is worth visiting, as is the thermal bath in Hajduszoboszló.

Facilities at Dorcas Christian Camping Centre

The central toilet building is large, tiled and of good quality with large, curtained showers (external changing) and washbasins. Accessible facilities, Facilities for laundry (key at reception). Shop for basics. Good value restaurant (menu in English). Small pool (June-Aug). Play areas. Church services (in English) fortnightly or more often if requested. Baseball field. Bicycle hire. TV rental. WiFi on part of site. Barbecue rental. English is spoken.

Coming from Budapest on the M3/M35, take the no 4 road North to Debrecen. Close to the centre of Debrecen, take road no. 47 south for 4 km. then left towards Hosszupalyi for 6 km. Site is signed on the right.
