Alan Rogers Review of Domaine le Petit Nice
Le Petit Nice, a member of the FranceLoc group, is a seaside site in traditional style, just south of the great Dune du Pyla (Europe’s largest sand dune, and a genuinely remarkable sight). It is a relatively unsophisticated, site with direct (steep) access to an excellent sandy beach. A hilly site, the 225 pitches are for the most part terraced, descending towards the sea. Many are quite small and therefore probably only suitable for tents and the larger ones only really suitable for those with smaller motorhomes and caravans. Most pitches are shaded by pine trees but those closest to the sea are without shade.
Unusually, the site also has a private hang gliding and paragliding take-off strip (very popular activities here).
Facilities at Domaine le Petit Nice
Two refurbished toilet blocks include washbasins in cubicles, baby rooms and accessible facilities. Washing machine. Motorhome services. Well stocked shop (Apr-Sept), smart bar/restaurant (Apr-Sept). Games room. Attractive swimming pool with small slide, children’s pool and jacuzzi. Good fenced play area. Tennis. Boules. Communal barbecues. Bicycle hire. WiFi on part of site.
Directions to Domaine le Petit Nice
The site is on the D218 (Arcachon-Biscarosse) behind the Dune du Pyla. Follow signs to ‘campings’. It is the fifth site you pass after the Dune.
