Alan Rogers Review of Domaine le Carpe Diem
Carpe Diem is attractively themed with Greek statues and an amphitheatre surround to its older pool. The situation is quite impressive with magnificent views over one of the most beautiful parts of France, yet only 1 km. from the fascinating town of Vaison-la-Romaine. There are 349 pitches with 118 small to medium sized, grassy/stony touring pitches all with 10A electricity; most with little or no shade. A new area has mobile homes and a few touring pitches with no shade. This is a good site for active families seeking all day entertainment. The pool complex is impressive with outdoor and covered pools, paddling pools, toboggans and more.
There are large paved sunbathing areas with tiered seating. These amenities will be enhanced by the recent addition of new and imaginative slides, pools and water features. Organised activities off the site include canoeing, riding, climbing, walking and mountain biking. The surrounding area is well worth exploring for its magnificent scenery, interesting old market towns and villages with their famous name vineyards. The area is superb for keen cyclists with the main challenge being the nearby Mont Ventoux.
