This glamping site offers overnight facilities, including breakfast, in very unusual accommodation, De Vreemde Vogel (The Strange Bird) is the creation of Davy and Petra Knijnenburg. Located in a natural setting on the edge of Vlaadingen the site reflects and combines the differing backgrounds of its owners, hotels and farming. The Ostrich, a caravan perched high above the ground with accommodation for two, The Bird House, a nest box somewhat more substantial than normal, capable of accommodating four people, the Iron Bird, an aircraft situated on the bank of the river running through the site, with beds for 4, plus many more exciting sleeping possibilities, all heated and with full sanitary facilities. Cars are parked outside the site on the adjacent public road - No touring pitches available.

The extraordinary accommodation is scattered around this very natural grassed site, formally a farm, and the hedges and trees contribute the site’s relaxing atmosphere. This is certainly an accommodation that one will never forget and the owners are always working on new ideas and improvements. Rotterdam has museums, shops and Holland’s highest viewing platform, the Euromast. For the first 100 m. one travels by a high-speed lift and you can ascend the remaining 85 m. in the rotating glass-floored Euroscoop.

Site is 15 km. west of Rotterdam on the western edge of Vlaadingen. From A20 take exit Vladingen West south for 1 km. and right into Marnixlaan then third left (500 m) into Doctor Wiadi Beckmansingel, after 200 m. right into Baerlstaat to site at end. For navigation systems enter Vossiusstraat 6.
