Just north of the border, Cressfield is an all-year park situated in undulating countryside near the village of Ecclefechan. There is a large caravan holiday home presence on-site, but it is peaceful and well maintained, with a mixture of touring and seasonal pitches. The park is landscaped with 85 hardstanding and grass pitches, 45 occupied by seasonal caravans, which are connected by tarmac or gravel roads and 16A electricity hook-ups are provided.

The site is located at the foot of the Brownmoor Forestry Commission Woods, which offer walking, mountain biking and birdwatching, as well as panoramic views over the unspoilt countryside. The park has no shop, but Ecclefechan village, the birthplace of Robert Carlyle, is only 400 yards away and the adjacent hotel offers meals. For the more active there are seven golf courses nearby and opportunities for coarse or game fishing.

The modern heated toilet block is central with well-equipped showers, washbasins in cubicles and was in 4 separate suites (£1) with hairdryers (metered). Toilet and washbasin, plus a separate accessible shower area. Well equipped laundry room. Gas supplies. Well equipped fenced play area. Sports field with goalposts (not in wet weather or Nov-March).

Directions to Cressfield Caravan Park

Approaching from north or south on A74M take exit 19 for Ecclefechan. Follow B7076 for 0.5 miles to south side of village. Park is signed through a new entrance on the right hand side. Reception is now in the new house on the left.
