About 35 km. south of Koblenz, between Rhine and Mosel, and an ideal base from which to visit these regions, this site is set on a south-facing slope that catches the sun all day. With trees and parkland all around, it is a peaceful and picturesque setting. There are 150 permanent caravans in a separate area from 90 short stay touring pitches on hardstanding. For longer stays, an area around the lake has a further 160 numbered pitches. These are of over 100 sq.m. on grass, some with hardstanding and all with 8A electricity. You can position yourself for shade or sun. The lake is used for inflatable boats and fishing. English is spoken by the helpful reception staff. Country Camping could be a useful transit stop en route to the Black Forest, Bavaria, Austria and Switzerland, as well as a family holiday. The owners have invested in the site by paving new roads, upgrading their facilities and the general appearance of the campsite.
High in the Hunsrück (a large area with forests, ideal for walking and cycling), Schinderhannes himself was a legendary Robin Hood-type character, whose activities were curtailed in Mainz, at the end of a rope.
