Alan Rogers Review of Corofin Village Camping Park

This compact green oasis in the centre of the village of Corofin occupies one acre and adjoins the family’s hostel. The owners, Jude and Marie Neylon, live on the site and have a policy of always having a family member on hand at all times. They are very environmentally aware and have excellent recycling facilities.

There are 25 touring pitches, 18 with electricity and there are ample water points. The site now includes a small separate tent area which is quite private and well sheltered. A campers’ kitchen, laundry room and the TV and games room are separate to the hostel facilities. This little site is neat and well maintained and makes an ideal base for sightseeing throughout Clare. Site is not suitable for large units.

It is a peaceful location, yet central for the restaurants, takeaway, shops and pubs in the village. This area is renowned for its traditional music. There are several lakes in the immediate locality for boating and fishing enthusiasts. Attractions include the world famous Burren and the Aillwee Caves, Quinn Abbey, Craggaunown and Knappogue Castles, as well as places of interest in Galway and Limerick. Public transport is available to the famous Lahinch beach and to the large town of Ennis.
