This is a short stay, city site just off the A6 autoroute and within easy reach of Lyon centre. Kept busy with overnight trade, the reception and the café (in July and August) is open until quite late. There are 239 separate numbered plots, all with 6/10A electricity. Those for caravans and motorhomes are mostly on hardstanding's and are on a slight slope, while those for tents are on a flatter grass area. All have shade.

The on-site restaurant serves family-friendly dishes. Bread and croissants can be ordered from reception for the morning, and there is an outdoor swimming pool where you can cool off. Children can also enjoy the use of the playground and games room. A sizeable commercial centre is just outside the site with hotels, restaurants, a supermarket and a petrol station. There is some road noise from the adjacent motorway.

Lyon is a very attractive city, especially noted for the excellence of its food, and well worth a visit. A bus stop for the centre (8 km) is nearby. Bus routes, metro map and town map are given to all visitors on arrival and tickets can be bought on site.

Facilities at CityKamp Camping de Lyon

One large, modern (Heated) sanitary block is in the central lodge, with two further blocks (solar heated) only open in high season. Facilities for babies. Accessible facilities, Washing machines. Motorhome services. Bar (All year, opens with a reception in low season). Snack/pizza and takeaway (July/Aug). Heated swimming and paddling pools (30/04 - 20/09 ). TV room. Games room. Reading room (books and local information). Playground. Table tennis, Boules. Picnic and barbecue area. Only gas and electric barbecues are allowed. Free Internet point at reception. WiFi in the bar (Free).

Directions to CityKamp Camping de Lyon

Travelling south, do not take A46 motorway around Lyon, continue on A6, take exit Limonest, Dardilly, Porte de Lyon. 8 km. north of Lyon tunnel; turn left for Porte de Lyon (well signed).
