Les Almadies is now part of the Tohapi Group who have built an impressive covered pool complex (open all year) and increased the number of mobile homes available to rent. Of the 520 pitches, all on level ground, 132 are available for touring, most in blocks, numbered but otherwise unmarked; all but two have electricity. A shop, restaurant and takeaway and the outdoor pool are open in high season only. A shuttle bus provides a link to the beach at La Tranche in high season, otherwise it is a drive of 4 or 5 km. The town has a good range of shops, bars and restaurants, with a large supermarket on the outskirts as you approach.

The sophisticated resort of Les Sables d’Olonne is 40 km. to the northwest and offers up-market shopping and dining, a zoo and a fine sandy beach. There is a wide variety of activities and tourist attractions available in the Vendée, many of them fairly close at hand, whilst days out could include a trip to the impressive historical theme park Le Puy du Fou or in complete contrast a leisurely punt along the shaded waterways of the Marais Poitevin (La Venise Verte).

Location

Site is on the D747 north of La Tranche-sur-Mer and 36 km. south of La Roche-sur-Yon. From A87 Cholet-La Roche-sur-Yon leave at exit 32 for La Tranche-sur-Mer and follow D747 towards La Tranche. Site is on right, 4.5 km. after passing Angles.
